Privacy Policy
Effective Date: April 12, 20261. Introduction
Welcome to PodTailor, a podcast player developed and operated by Poudrough Projects. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the PodTailor mobile application (the "App").
By using PodTailor you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you have any questions, please contact us at ryan@poudroughprojects.com.
This policy is effective as of April 12, 2026.
2. Information We Collect
PodTailor collects only the minimum information needed to provide its features:
- Account data — When you create an account or sign in, we collect your email address, display name, and authentication provider (e.g., Apple, Google, or email/password) through our authentication partner Supabase. We do not store raw passwords.
- Listening data — Your listening history, episode progress, playback speed preferences, and queue are stored locally on your device in an encrypted SQLite database. This data is never transmitted to our servers.
- App preferences — Settings such as theme, sleep timer defaults, and silence-trimming preferences are stored locally on your device only.
- Downloaded content — Podcast episode files you download for offline listening are stored locally on your device only.
- Purchase data — If you purchase a PodTailor Pro subscription, transaction metadata (subscription status, entitlements) is processed by RevenueCat and the relevant app store (Apple App Store or Google Play). We do not store your payment card details or financial account information.
- Imported audio — Audio files you import from your device are processed and stored locally only. They are never uploaded to any server.
3. Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect or use any of the following:
- Analytics or usage tracking of any kind
- Advertising identifiers (IDFA on iOS or GAID on Android)
- Location data (precise or approximate)
- Contacts, calendar entries, or camera images
- Microphone audio
- Cross-app tracking or behavioral profiling
- Device fingerprinting
- Crash reporting or diagnostic telemetry sent to third parties
4. Third-Party Services
PodTailor integrates with the following third-party services. Each service operates under its own privacy policy, linked below.
- Supabase — Provides user authentication and secure account storage. Your email address and authentication provider are stored on Supabase's servers. Supabase encrypts data at rest and in transit.
- RevenueCat — Manages in-app purchase and subscription entitlements. RevenueCat receives your subscription status and a platform-assigned subscriber ID. No payment details pass through RevenueCat.
- Apple Sign-In — If you choose to sign in with Apple, Apple authenticates you and may provide a relayed email address. Apple's privacy policy governs how Apple handles your data.
- Google Sign-In — If you choose to sign in with Google, Google authenticates you and shares your Google account email and display name with us. Google's privacy policy governs how Google handles your data.
- iTunes Search API — When you search for podcasts, your search query is sent to Apple's iTunes Search API to retrieve podcast results. No personally identifiable information is attached to these requests.
- RSS Feed Servers — When PodTailor fetches a podcast feed or streams an episode, your device's IP address is visible to the podcast publisher's server, just as it would be in any web request. We have no control over how podcast publishers handle server logs.
5. Data Storage & Security
- Local data — Listening history, preferences, downloads, and imported audio are stored exclusively on your device. They are not backed up to our servers.
- Account data — Your account information stored in Supabase is encrypted at rest and transmitted over TLS (HTTPS).
- No data sales — We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties for commercial purposes.
- Access controls — Only authorized personnel at Poudrough Projects have access to account-level data, and only to the extent necessary to support the service.
6. Data Deletion
You have full control over your data:
- Delete your account — Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account in the app. This permanently removes your account and all associated server-side data from Supabase. This action cannot be undone.
- Local data — Listening history, preferences, downloads, and imported audio stored locally on your device are removed when you uninstall the app or clear app data through your device settings.
- OPML export — Before deleting your account, you can export your podcast subscriptions as an OPML file via Settings > Export Subscriptions so you can import them into another app.
- Requests — To request deletion of specific data or to ask questions about data retention, contact us at ryan@poudroughprojects.com.
7. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
PodTailor is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at ryan@poudroughprojects.com and we will promptly delete that information from our systems.
This policy complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
8. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) grants you the following rights with respect to your personal information:
- Right to know — You have the right to request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources of that information, and the purposes for which it is used.
